Last night, the elementary school hosted a delightful Math and Literacy Family Night, bringing together students, parents, and staff for an evening filled with games, learning, and fun. The event was a wonderful opportunity for families to engage in educational activities in a relaxed and enjoyable setting.
Literacy Activities: Poetry and Creativity
The literacy section of the night featured captivating poetry readings that enthralled both children and adults. Attendees also had the chance to create their own cootie catchers (origami chatterboxes) and fancy bookmarks, adding a creative touch to the evening.
Math Fun: Tangrams and Table Games
On the math side, participants enjoyed working with tangrams and engaging in various math table games. There was even a station for students to figure out the math to create their own trail mix recipe. Each family received a goody bag filled with dice, cards, and tangrams to continue the fun and learning at home.
Overall, the Math and Literacy Family Night was a resounding success, fostering a sense of community and a love for learning among all who attended. The event highlighted the importance of family involvement in education and provided a memorable experience for everyone involved.
