A note from the principal

Dear Parents,

Welcome back to another exciting school year at Bolden Elementary/Middle School. I hope you had a wonderful summer with family and friends. We anticipate another successful school year sharing our vision to educate every student, every day, everywhere. I look forward to this upcoming school year and I am confident that through our collective efforts, our students will achieve their highest potential. The Bolden Team will remain committed to preparing our students to be innovative problem solvers and able to meet the challenges of the 21st Century. I believe that all children can learn especially when a partnership is formed between school, parent, student, and community. I encourage you to be an active participant in your child’s education and become involved in the Bolden school community.

Together we can make a difference! I look forward to working with you this school year!

A note from the nurse

ROUTINE SCREENINGS SY 24/25

As part of the DoDEA school health program, routine screenings such as vision, hearing, height, and weight are conducted. The guidelines state that all 3rd, 5th, 7th grade, and new students should be screened.  Throughout the school year, screenings will be done on students as they go to the school nurse for an office visit.

Students may also be referred to the school nurse by their teacher or parent for vision or hearing screening and will be screened upon referral/request.

If you do not want your child to participate in routine screenings for this school year; please notify the school nurse via email at Annemarie.navarro@dodea.edu.

 Respectfully,

Annemarie Navarro, RN

Bolden School Nurse

Front Office Information

A New Front Office Email Address

We are pleased to announce that a new email address has been
established to facilitate communication between families and
the school. The email address is boldenfrontoffice@dodea.edu

This email will serve as the primary channel for parents and sponsor to communicate
attendance-related matters, including notifying us when a
student will be absent for the day or if there are emergency
dismissal changes.
Important Points:
Email Address: Please use the provided email address
(boldenfrontoffice@dodea.edu) when sending attendance
notes or dismissal change requests. It is crucial that both the
child’s homeroom teacher and the front office receive your
email.

Dismissal Changes: To ensure safety and security, we will
not accept dismissal changes after 2:30 p.m. If you need to
make any permanent transportation or dismissal changes,
please complete the required form. You can obtain the form
by visiting the school front office or requesting it to be sent
home.
Email Format for Dismissal Changes: When emailing a
dismissal change, please include the following details:
* Child’s full name
* Your name (parent/sponsor)
* Homeroom teacher’s name
* Specific dismissal changes for that day
Classroom Questions and Concerns: While this email
address is primarily for attendance and dismissal matters, if
you have specific classroom-related questions or concerns, we
encourage you to directly email the teacher responsible for
your child’s class. Thank you for your cooperation, and we
look forward to maintaining effective communication with our
school community.

Student Contact Information

Please notify the office if you have any new phone numbers (home, work, cell), or if you no longer use a number previously
listed with the school. It is important to us that your child’s contact information is current for their teachers, school nurse, and principal.
We also want to ensure that you receive all messages sent to Bolden families through the Everbridge notification system.

Important School Information

Safe School Zone

School Arrival and Dismissal Locations

To ensure the safety of our students, please do not drop off or pick up your children from the back of the school. All students who are car riders must be dropped off and picked up from the front of the school. If you have students at both Elliott and Bolden you may drop off your students in the morning at the Elliott car rider line. Students should not be dropped off in front of the school if they’re late. If your children are late, please escort them into the office and sign them in.
We appreciate your cooperation.

Bicycle Safety Helmet

Wearing a bicycle helmet. It’s the law!!

According to Air Station Order P5110.1E, anyone riding a bicycle on base is REQUIRED to wear an approved bicycle helmet. Also, Depot Order 1710.31A(b) states that at age 5 a parent must remain with their child providing instructive supervision while riding and not until age 6 are children allowed to ride their bikes to school alone.

Severe Weather Dismissal

In the Event of Severe Weather

When there is a lightning warning/storm, our school will implement a severe weather dismissal. During this dismissal, walkers and bike riders will not be permitted to leave unless they are being picked up or the lightning warning/storm is canceled. Please make sure that your children know who will be picking them up if you are unable to do so.
