Dear Teachers, Parents, and Students,
As we enter the month of April, I am excited to announce that our school will be celebrating the Month of the Military Child. This special month is dedicated to recognizing and honoring the unique sacrifices and contributions of children in military families.
Military children often face challenges such as frequent relocations, parental deployments, and the need to adapt to new environments. Despite these challenges, they demonstrate remarkable resilience, strength, and adaptability. It is important for us as a school community to acknowledge their experiences and provide support and appreciation.
Throughout this month, we have planned a variety of activities and events to celebrate our military-connected students. These include:
- Purple Walk of Fame: On April 1st, we will roll out the purple carpet as staff celebrate our military-connected students.
- Purple Up! Day: On April 15th, we encourage everyone to wear purple as a symbol of support for military children. Purple represents the blending of all branches of the military, showing unity and solidarity.
- MOMC Family Picnic: Join us on April 25th for a family picnic to celebrate and connect with other military families.
- Story Sharing Sessions: Military children will have the opportunity to share their stories and experiences with their peers, fostering understanding and empathy.
- PTO Sponsored Events: The PTO is sponsoring a variety of events now and until the end of the school year for our students.
Additionally, our students have been working diligently on their projects for the upcoming STEMposium on April 10th. This event will showcase their innovative ideas and hard work in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. We are proud of their dedication and look forward to seeing their impressive projects.
We also have several exciting soccer matches scheduled throughout the month. These matches provide an excellent opportunity for our students to demonstrate teamwork, sportsmanship, and athletic skills.
I encourage all teachers to incorporate discussions and activities related to the Month of the Military Child into their lessons. Parents, your support and involvement in these activities are invaluable. Together, we can create a supportive and inclusive environment for our military-connected students.
Thank you for your continued dedication and support. Let's make this month a memorable and meaningful one for all our students.
Go Eagles!
