The Bolden Bugle Newsletter

Dear Bolden Elementary Middle School Family and Staff,
As we enter the last quarter of the school year, we have several exciting events and important reminders to share with you.
Upcoming Events:
- Spring Pictures: March 17th
- Quarter 3 Awards Ceremony: March 28th
- Month of the Military Child: Celebrations throughout April!
- PTO Carnival: April 5th
With the arrival of spring, more students are walking or riding their bikes to school. Unfortunately, I have noticed some unsafe and inappropriate behaviors. To ensure the safety of all our students, please remind your child to wear a helmet when riding a bike and to stay on the sidewalk at all times.
Let's work together to emphasize the importance of safety and acceptable behavior. Your support in this matter is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe.
Angela M. Stephens, Ed.D.

Are you MOVING??
The school needs to know if you are planning to PCS.
Please stop by the office to pick up a student
withdrawal form if you know when your student’s last
day will be.
If you move to another house on base (Parris Island,
Laurel Bay or Naval Hospital) you must provide the office
with a copy of your new lease agreement. If you move off
base during the school year, your child will be allowed to
finish out the school year at Bolden.
However, they will not be eligible to attend Bolden the
next school year. The office will also need to be notified
of your new address. Please contact the school at
843-466-7100 if you have any questions.

Wearing a bicycle helmet. It’s the law!!
According to Air Station Order P5110.1E, anyone riding a bicycle on base is REQUIRED to wear an approved bicycle helmet. Also, Depot Order 1710.31A(b) states that at age 5 a parent must remain with their child providing instructive supervision while riding and not until age 6 are children allowed to ride their bikes to school alone.
A New Front Office Email Address
We are pleased to announce that a new email address has been
established to facilitate communication between families and
the school. The email address is boldenfrontoffice@dodea.edu.Â
This email will serve as the primary channel for parents and sponsor to communicate
attendance-related matters, including notifying us when a
student will be absent for the day or if there are emergency
dismissal changes.
Important Points:
Email Address: Please use the provided email address
(boldenfrontoffice@dodea.edu) when sending attendance
notes or dismissal change requests. It is crucial that both the
child’s homeroom teacher and the front office receive your
email.
Dismissal Changes: To ensure safety and security, we will
not accept dismissal changes after 2:30 p.m. If you need to
make any permanent transportation or dismissal changes,
please complete the required form. You can obtain the form
by visiting the school front office or requesting it to be sent
home.
Email Format for Dismissal Changes: When emailing a
dismissal change, please include the following details:
* Child’s full name
* Your name (parent/sponsor)
* Homeroom teacher’s name
* Specific dismissal changes for that day
Classroom Questions and Concerns: While this email
address is primarily for attendance and dismissal matters, if
you have specific classroom-related questions or concerns, we
encourage you to directly email the teacher responsible for
your child’s class. Thank you for your cooperation, and we
look forward to maintaining effective communication with our
school community.
Student Contact Information: Please notify the office if you have any new phone numbers (home, work, cell), or if you no longer use a number previously listed with the school. It is important to us that your child’s contact information is current for their teachers, school nurse, and principal. We also want to ensure that you receive all messages sent to Bolden families through the Everbridge notification system.
